R.I.P. Buffy-Marie

Our precious Buffy-Marie dei Dohse passed away on Friday, October 18th 2013. She lived a good long life – she would have turned twelve on December 8th. We miss her so much and cherish all the fond memories we have of her. We’re so thankful to have been able to care for her all these years. I will miss how she would bark at the T.V. when there was any kind of a conflict on, like a wrestling match. She was very playful and sometimes she would jump up and try to push you from behind if you weren’t paying attention. Rest in peace, Buffy.

Unreal! This guy attempted surgery on his Doberman. The dog is in good hands now, thank goodness!

A Doberman survived a dangerous swin in a Collier County, FL canal thanks to the aid of a dolphin.
Dolphins and Dobermans - my two favorite creatures!

Treats Galore

My Dobie Nemo goes NUTS for Pupperoni treats. If he even sees the bag sitting on the kitchen counter he will bark at it while wagging his tail. I may have to find him a therapy group for this condition. HA! Anyway, if your dog is "addicted" too, go to this site for coupons. Update: May 18, 2011. Scratch that last comment about the coupons, read this article instead!

Doberman Detects Danger, Deters Devastation

Monster, a 6-year-old male black Doberman alerted his family to a house fire.
Evelyn Aguilar and her many children were sleeping in the Beltsville, Maryland home when fire broke out.

The Doberman was outside the home at the time and he barked and jumped repeatedly on a sliding glass door to get someone's attention.

Everyone got out of the burning house safely. One firefighter sustained burn injuries. He was treated and released at a local hospital.

The family was just prior to the fire contemplating giving Monster away because money is so tight these days, but after this event, they have decided to keep him.

This is not Monster's first heroic effort. This awesome Doberman scared away an armed burglar a couple of years ago.

Reward for Sadie, Missing Doberman

There's a $10,000 reward for the safe return of Sadie, an 18-month old red Doberman missing from the Ridgefield area of Connecticut for nearly two weeks.

The Longman family last saw Sadie on March 12th when they were feeding all of their seven dogs.

This link has more information about the search effort and how the family acquired Sadie originally.

Dozing Dobermans

Here are Buffy and Nemo asleep on the floor. Buffy snores and that cracks me up. It's just not very ladylike.

Missing My Babygirl

Three years ago today we had to say goodbye to our little Tiffy-girl. I miss her so. She lived a long, healthy life (after a puppyhood bout with Parvo) and she was spoiled. Her body just up and gave out on her. We took her in to a specialist because she would just walk around in circles constantly. The Doc took some x-rays and said she only had a month left. We had to let Tiffany go just a week later and it was heartbreaking.

I will always remember her zest for life, she had such enthusiasm. If you sat down and crossed your legs, she would position herself over your foot to get a belly rub.
Tiffany was a great Doberman and I am blessed to have had her in my life.
